Experiments

Sometimes it can be difficult to calculate a probability exactly. In such cases, one can often obtain an approximate result by performing an experiment. The result will often be useful but rarely 100% precise.

The law of large numbers

The theory behind the law of large numbers is that the more times an experiment is carried out, the closer the result will be to the true probability.

Simulation

When performing experiments related to probability, it can be advantageous to create a simulation in a spreadsheet.
