Trigonometry (Right-Angled Triangle)

REMEMBER:

  • Angles are denoted by capital letters (A, B, and C).
  • Sides are denoted by lowercase letters (a, b, and c).
  • Angle C is always 90°.

Example:

If we know a = 5 and B = 52°, and we want to find the length of side c.

First, we look for the formulas for side c, then choose the one that includes a and B.

c = a cos ( B )

Trigonometric Ratios:

cos ( angle ) = adjacent hypotenuse

sin ( angle ) = opposite hypotenuse

tan ( angle ) = opposite adjacent
